Silverton, Colorado dispersed camping

Fantastic dispersed camping right outside Silverton, Colorado at Golden Horn Campground. Take Forest Road 585 just west of Silverton off the Million Dollar Hwy (US550). Forest Road 585 serves a few dispersed cam sites and a paid National Forest campsite. There are some great trail heads for hiking and routes for light to moderate off-roading. Golden Horn is a little further down the road than Kendall or Anvil dispersed campgrounds, but the slightly farther drive gets you a beautiful site near Mineral Creek that is usually a little less crowded. Silverton and some of the surrounding areas offer everything you need when it comes to restaurants, shops, and nature. This could be one of the best areas in the country to have it all.
